Privacy Policy
Last Updated: October 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information The Gold Recipes (thegoldrecipes.com) collects when you visit the site, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what choices you have. We have tried to keep it short and specific. It covers only this website and does not apply to information collected offline or through other channels.
If you have a question about anything below, you can reach us through the Contact Us page.
Consent
By using this website, you agree to the practices described in this policy. Where the law requires your consent for specific technologies, such as non-essential cookies for visitors in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom, we ask for it separately and you can withdraw it at any time (see "Visitors in the EEA and UK" below).
Information We Collect
We collect only the information needed to run the site. In practice, that means the following:
Contact form
If you write to us through the contact form, we receive your name, your email address and the text of your message. We use this information only to read your message and reply to you.
Recipe ratings and comments
If you rate a recipe or leave a comment, the form asks for your name and the text you submit. Comments may be displayed publicly on the recipe page, so please do not include anything you would not want others to read, such as your email address, phone number or home address.
Server logs
Like most websites, our web server automatically records standard log information when pages are requested: your IP address, your browser type and the pages you requested. We use these logs for security and troubleshooting, for example to spot abusive traffic or to find out why a page failed to load.
Visit statistics
We measure how the site is used with first-party visit statistics that run on our own server. They record the page viewed and the referrer (the page or site that sent you to us). Raw visit records are kept for 7 days, after which only daily totals remain. These totals show us which recipes are useful to readers and cannot be traced back to an individual.
Cloudflare and technical cookies
We use Cloudflare for content delivery and security. Cloudflare may set technical cookies and processes request data, such as IP addresses, to deliver pages quickly and to protect the site from attacks and bots. These cookies serve security and performance purposes. See Cloudflare's own privacy policy for details on how it handles data.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to:
- Deliver, secure and maintain the website
- Reply to messages sent through the contact form
- Display ratings and comments on recipe pages
- Understand which recipes and categories readers use, so we can improve them
- Detect and prevent abuse, spam and security incidents
- Fix technical problems
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use contact form messages for marketing or add you to any mailing list.
Advertising and Analytics Providers
The only third-party services described in this policy are the ones listed here and in the sections above: Cloudflare, for content delivery and security, and Pinterest, which we link to from our social profile. Visit statistics are first-party and run on our own server.
If Google advertising services are shown on the site, Google and its partners may use cookies to serve and measure ads. You can manage how Google personalizes ads at adssettings.google.com, and you can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Third-party privacy policies
This policy does not cover other websites. When you follow a link to another site, including our Pinterest profile, that site's own privacy policy applies, and we encourage you to read it.
Visitors in the EEA and UK
If you visit from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we ask for your consent before using any cookies or similar technologies that are not strictly necessary for the site to work. You can accept or decline, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time. Declining does not stop you from reading recipes.
Our legal bases for processing are: your consent (for non-essential cookies), our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and working properly (server logs, security, visit statistics), and taking steps to answer you when you contact us (contact form).
Your Rights Under the GDPR and UK GDPR
If you are in the EEA or the UK, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- The right to access – you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- The right to rectification – you can ask us to correct information you believe is inaccurate or incomplete.
- The right to erasure – you can ask us to delete your personal data, under certain conditions.
- The right to restrict processing – you can ask us to limit how we use your data, under certain conditions.
- The right to object – you can object to our processing of your data, under certain conditions.
- The right to data portability – you can ask us to transfer your data to you or to another organization, under certain conditions.
- The right to withdraw consent – where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the Contact Us page. We aim to respond within one month.
California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA, gives you the right to:
- Know what categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you
- Request deletion of personal information we have collected from you
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights
We do not sell personal information in exchange for money. To make a request, contact us through the Contact Us page. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we aim to respond within 45 days.
Data Retention
- Contact form messages: kept only as long as needed to answer you and handle any follow-up, then deleted.
- Ratings and comments: kept for as long as the recipe page they belong to is published. You can ask us to remove your comment at any time.
- Visit statistics: raw visit records are kept for 7 days; afterward only daily totals remain.
- Server logs: kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting, then removed.
Children's Privacy
This website is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the contact form or a comment, please contact us and we will delete it promptly. We encourage parents and guardians to supervise their children's online activity.
Security
We use Cloudflare's security protections and restrict access to the data described above. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect the information you share with us.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our practices or the law change. The "Last Updated" date at the top shows when the policy was last revised. Please check it from time to time; continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
